Singer and pastor Banky W has opened up about the emotional toll of his family’s fertility journey, revealing that watching his wife, actress Adesua Etomi, go through multiple unsuccessful IVF cycles was one of the most humbling experiences of his life.
Speaking on The Teju Baby Face Show, Banky W described the period as deeply challenging but transformative, saying it reshaped his understanding of strength within marriage.
He explained that Adesua’s resilience during repeated medical procedures stood out to him, noting that she consistently followed treatment plans despite setbacks.
According to him, the experience revealed a level of endurance in his wife that he considers greater than his own, and it changed how he now relates to her as a partner.
Banky W added that witnessing her journey made him more reflective about everyday responsibilities, saying it influenced how he approaches domestic life, including taking on more cooking duties.
He also disclosed that Adesua paused parts of her acting career during periods when they were actively trying to conceive, describing it as a significant personal sacrifice.
The singer said the couple’s fertility struggles ultimately strengthened their faith, noting that the difficult seasons brought them closer spiritually rather than pushing them apart.
Adesua, who also appeared on the programme, acknowledged that their marriage has had both difficult and rewarding phases.
Banky W further reflected on their relationship timeline, revealing that they transitioned from friendship into dating before marrying in November 2017. The couple later welcomed their son, Zaiah, in 2021 after publicly sharing aspects of their fertility journey.
Their story has continued to resonate widely, drawing attention to infertility challenges and the emotional realities faced by couples navigating assisted reproduction.
