Nottingham Forest forward Taiwo Awoniyi etched his name into the record books after his side’s 3-1 Premier League victory over Chelsea on Monday.
The Nigerian striker scored twice at Stamford Bridge, playing a decisive role in securing maximum points for his team, while teammate Igor Jesus also got on the scoresheet for the visitors.
Awoniyi’s first goal, coming in under two minutes, has been noted as one of the quickest away goals recorded against Chelsea in the Premier League in recent years.
The strike is also the fastest against the Blues since December 2013, when Jay Rodriguez found the net for Southampton just 13 seconds into their encounter.
Awoniyi will be aiming to replicate his form when Nottingham Forest face Aston Villa in the second leg of their Europa League semi-final on Thursday.
