Arsenal have reportedly opened talks over a possible move for Tottenham Hotspur defender Cristian Romero.
According to the Daily Mail, the Gunners have contacted the Argentina international’s representatives as they consider a potential transfer for the 28-year-old.
Tottenham are aware of Arsenal’s interest but are reluctant to allow Romero to join their North London rivals, preferring instead to sell him to a club outside the Premier League.
Atletico Madrid are currently viewed as the leading contenders for the defender’s signature.
Meanwhile, Inter Milan have reportedly agreed a £34 million transfer fee with Spurs but are yet to reach an agreement on personal terms with Romero.
