Australia has strengthened its dominance at the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, opening up a sizeable lead on the medals table as the competition approaches its final stages.
The latest standings show Australia leading with 128 medals—55 gold, 30 silver and 43 bronze—giving the nation more gold medals than England and Canada, the next two countries on the table, combined.
England occupies second place with 80 medals, including 17 gold, while Canada is third with the same number of gold medals but fewer silver medals and a total haul of 53. Hosts Scotland are fourth with 34 medals, while Nigeria remains Africa’s best-performing nation in fifth place after winning 18 medals made up of nine gold, six silver and three bronze.
New Zealand and South Africa have each secured 25 medals, but New Zealand sits sixth on the strength of a higher silver medal count. Malaysia, Wales and India complete the top 10.
The latest rankings also underline the gap between the leading teams and the rest of the field. Of the 74 Commonwealth Games Associations competing in Glasgow, only 38 have reached the medal podium, leaving 36 nations yet to win a medal.
