Nigerian street-pop singer Portable and actor Charles Okocha will renew their rivalry in a celebrity boxing rematch scheduled for July 31 at the Balmoral Convention Centre.
The bout, promoted by Balmoral Promotions and themed “Unfinished Business,” was announced on Instagram. Organisers said the event will also feature a showdown between Agbaje and Musa, promising a night of high-profile celebrity boxing contests.
In the announcement, the promoters declared that the time for talking was over, with four fighters set to settle their differences inside the ring.
The rematch comes weeks after Portable suffered his first defeat in celebrity boxing. At the Chaos in the Ring 4 event held at the Balmoral Hall, Federal Palace Hotel in Lagos, he lost to streamer Carter Efe by a unanimous 30-27 decision over three rounds, ending his unbeaten record and costing him his celebrity boxing title.
Before that loss, Portable had recorded victories over Charles Okocha and Speed Darlington, earning two celebrity boxing belts.
The rivalry between Portable and Okocha dates back to 2023 when the singer accused the actor of withholding about ₦40 million from a business arrangement. The disagreement quickly escalated from social media exchanges to a boxing contest at Landmark Beach in Victoria Island.
Portable emerged victorious in their first encounter after four rounds. He dominated the opening round with aggressive attacks, while Okocha responded strongly in the second. Both men appeared fatigued by the final round and opted not to continue, after which Portable was declared the winner and awarded the championship belt.
Okocha has repeatedly disputed that outcome, insisting the result did not accurately reflect the contest and calling for another fight.
Their July 31 showdown presents Okocha with another opportunity to reverse the earlier result, while Portable will be aiming to bounce back from his recent defeat and re-establish himself in Nigeria’s celebrity boxing scene.
