Comoros will face Nigeria’s Super Falcons in the second round of the qualifiers for the 2028 Olympic Games after crushing Sudan 30-0 on aggregate in the opening round.
The Coelacanths recorded a 17-0 win in the first leg before sealing qualification with a 13-0 triumph in the return fixture, completing a dominant display over the Sudanese side.
Their reward is a clash with the reigning African champions, who are widely expected to progress given their pedigree as the continent’s most successful women’s team.
The Super Falcons head into the tie on the back of consecutive friendly victories over Senegal. Justine Madugu’s side secured a 2-1 win in the first meeting before recording a 3-0 victory at the Remo Stars Stadium in Ikenne on Monday.
The second-round fixtures are scheduled to take place between October 5 and 13, 2026.
Africa will have two representatives in the women’s football tournament at the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles, United States.
