Nigerian singer Magixx has expressed his views on financial responsibilities in relationships, stating that he does not support the idea of sharing bills equally between partners.
The Mavin Records artiste made this known during a recent interview on Cool FM Lagos, where he discussed expectations around money in romantic relationships and marriage.
According to Magixx, men should take full responsibility for paying bills, regardless of whether the woman initiated the relationship or not. He insisted that the concept of a 50/50 financial arrangement does not align with his personal beliefs.
“I don’t believe in 50/50. I believe a man should pay the bills even if it is the woman who asked him out,” he said during the interview.
However, the singer also admitted that his perspective might have been different if he were not financially successful, suggesting that his current stance is influenced by his level of financial stability.
His comments have sparked conversations online, with many weighing in on the debate around financial expectations and equality in modern relationships.
