Super Eagles coach Éric Chelle has commended his players following Nigeria’s 2-0 victory over Zimbabwe in the Unity Cup semi-final at The Valley on Tuesday night.
Femi Azeez scored both goals for Nigeria in an impressive display against the Warriors.
Speaking after the match, Chelle praised the commitment shown by his squad during preparations for the encounter.
“This game was good. The players worked a lot during the two days — two training sessions of three hours each — so they worked a lot and deserved this victory,” Chelle said after the game.
The Malian coach also applauded Zimbabwe’s performance, describing them as a strong side despite the defeat.
“Zimbabwe is a good team with strong players and they played well to win this game. I am happy for them. Congratulations to the players,” added Chelle.
