Nollywood actress and filmmaker Uche Jombo has expressed her commitment to standing by the wife of late actor Alex Ekubo following a condolence visit to his home.
In a post shared on Instagram, Jombo revealed that she and other colleagues visited the late actor’s residence, where they met his wife and reflected on his life and legacy.
She described the atmosphere as deeply emotional, noting that the gathering shifted between tears and moments of laughter as those present remembered the actor’s personality and spirit.
According to her, the conversations highlighted both the pain of his absence and the warmth of the memories he left behind.
Jombo also expressed gratitude for the time she shared with Ekubo during his lifetime, describing their interactions as filled with lessons, conversations, and affection. She added that while his passing has left a significant emotional void, there is comfort in believing he is no longer in pain.
During the visit, she said she and others reassured his wife of their continued support as she navigates the period of loss.
“As we sat around your wife today talking about you, through the tears came heavy laughter, and I looked around and said… this is so Alex,” she wrote, reflecting on the mood of the gathering.
She further noted that Ekubo lived intentionally and, in her words, “did it his own way,” adding that despite the grief, there is gratitude for his life and peace in his final moments.
Jombo concluded her message with a tribute to the late actor, describing him as deeply loved and missed by those who knew him closely.
