A violent clash between rival terrorist factions in Kaduna State has left a notorious bandit leader, Kachalla Auwalu, dead.
Auwalu, who was reportedly linked to the Dogo Gide network, was killed during the confrontation in Birnin Gwari Local Government Area.
According to an operational report on Sunday, the clash stemmed from infighting among armed groups operating in the area, with about 12 terrorists said to have been killed in the process.
The Nigerian Army said it is closely monitoring the situation to prevent further escalation of violence.
In a related development, troops under Operation Fansan Yamma in Zamfara State responded to an attack on Gidan Daji village in Maru Local Government Area, launching pursuit operations to apprehend the fleeing assailants.
The Army added that ongoing operations are part of intensified efforts to dismantle terrorist networks and restore security in affected communities.
