The Rivers State Police Command has reportedly arrested a social media personality identified as Veryblackman, who is also described as an associate of activist VeryDarkMan.
Veryblackman was arrested on Saturday over an alleged threat to the life of reality TV personality and comedian DeeOne.
According to reports, the arrest followed his failure to respond to an invitation from the police regarding the alleged threat.
He was subsequently taken to Lagos on Sunday, where the matter is expected to be handled further.
DeeOne reacted to the development in an Instagram post, commending the police over the arrest.
“Arrested and swift to Lagos! Next time you won’t threaten someone’s life. Kudos to the Nigerian Police for doing their job,” he wrote.
The development follows an incident in June 2026, when Veryblackman allegedly threatened DeeOne after the comedian criticised VeryDarkMan.
The reported threat triggered calls for police intervention, with several Nigerians, including media personalities Mario Wazobia and Broda Mike, publicly urging authorities to investigate the matter.
The circumstances surrounding the alleged threat and the specific allegations against Veryblackman remain subject to police investigation.
