Actor and filmmaker Rotimi Salami has honoured the memory of late Nollywood actress Allwell Ademola with an emotional tribute ahead of what would have been her 50th birthday.
In a heartfelt post shared on Instagram, Salami reflected on the loss of the actress, saying her absence continues to be felt across the Nigerian film industry.
Beginning his message with the words, “Oh Death! Nollywood bleeds,” the actor addressed Ademola by her nickname, “Shuga,” while marking the milestone she would have celebrated on Sunday, August 9.
“Shuga, you would be 50 years on Sunday, Aug. 9, if you were here… Though you may be far gone away from us, but your works will live forever,” he wrote.
Salami praised the late actress for the impact she made during her career, expressing confidence that her body of work would continue to inspire audiences and industry colleagues.
As part of the tribute, the filmmaker also announced that his movie, “Until My Last Breath,” will premiere on The Salamis TV YouTube channel on August 9, coinciding with the day Ademola would have marked her 50th birthday.
While he did not explain the connection between the film and the late actress, the timing of its release underscores his desire to honour her memory.
Allwell Ademola died in December 2025 at the age of 49, leaving behind a legacy built through years of contributions to Nollywood.
Since her passing, colleagues and admirers have continued to celebrate her talent, dedication and lasting influence on Nigeria’s film industry, with Salami’s latest tribute adding to the growing list of heartfelt remembrances.
