The nominations for the 78th Primetime Emmy Awards have been announced, with medical drama The Pitt emerging as the most recognised programme after securing 25 nominations.
Comedy series Hacks followed closely with 24 nominations, while Widow’s Bay earned 19. Pluribus received 18 nominations, and limited series Beef rounded out the top five with 16 nods.
The Television Academy is expected to begin the final round of voting on August 17, ahead of the awards ceremony scheduled for September 14, 2026.
This year’s Emmy Awards will be hosted by actress Mariska Hargitay, widely known for portraying Olivia Benson in Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.
Among the nominees for Outstanding Drama Series are The Diplomat, The Gilded Age, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, Paradise, The Pitt, Pluribus, Slow Horses and Your Friends & Neighbors.
The Outstanding Comedy Series category features Abbott Elementary, The Bear, Hacks, Margo’s Got Money Troubles, Nobody Wants This, Only Murders in the Building, Shrinking and Widow’s Bay.
In the Outstanding Limited or Anthology Series category, nominees include All Her Fault, The Beast in Me, Beef, DTF St. Louis and Love Story: John F. Kennedy Jr. & Carolyn Bessette.
The acting categories include Sterling K. Brown, Gary Oldman, Noah Wyle, Carrie Coon, Keri Russell, Zendaya, Quinta Brunson, Ayo Edebiri, Jean Smart, Oscar Isaac, Carey Mulligan and Sarah Snook among this year’s nominees.
