Nigerian rapper and singer Zlatan Ibile, born Omoniyi Temidayo, is set to return to his alma mater, Moshood Abiola Polytechnic (MAPOLY), for a free homecoming concert and the unveiling of a new music studio.
The event, themed “Homecoming,” is scheduled to take place on July 1, 2026, at the MAPOLY Sports Centre in Ogun State.
According to the artiste, the concert will be free for students and will serve as his first major campus performance of the year.
Announcing the event on Instagram, Zlatan reflected on the role the institution played in shaping his journey before he rose to prominence in the Nigerian music industry.
“MAPOLY made me before the world knew my name. Same ground, same dream, same hunger that carried me everywhere. Now I’m coming back home. Not just to perform for you, but to celebrate with you,” he wrote.
He added that the event is his way of reconnecting with the community where his music journey began.
“A free show for my people. The place where it all started. Symbol of Hope Homecoming. MAPOLY Sports Centre, Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Ogun State,” he said.
Beyond the concert, Zlatan is also expected to unveil a new music studio on campus, a move aimed at supporting aspiring creatives within the institution.
The award-winning artiste studied at MAPOLY in the early 2010s before pursuing music full-time. During his time at the polytechnic, he built an early fan base by performing at campus events, participating in freestyle sessions and developing the energetic street-inspired sound that later propelled him to national fame.
The upcoming homecoming is expected to reunite Zlatan with the campus community that played a key role in the early stages of his career while giving current students an opportunity to celebrate one of the institution’s most successful alumni.
