Comedian and cleric Woli Arole has called on individuals to actively defend their reputation, warning that unchecked narratives can distort public perception and undermine personal or professional efforts.
In a statement shared via Instagram, Arole stressed that people should not allow false impressions about them to spread among friends, colleagues, or within their workplaces.
He described narratives as highly influential, cautioning that words—whether spoken online or offline—carry significant weight in shaping how individuals are viewed.
“Please, I want to say this, don’t allow people to have a wrong impression about you online and offline. Stand tall to defend yourself either amongst your friends or at your workplace. Narrative is very powerful. Don’t let people speak ill of you to your face. Words are powerful,” he wrote.
Arole also said he is intentional about speaking positively about himself and rejects what he considers false claims or damaging statements about his identity and calling.
He noted that he does not hesitate to respond directly when confronted with criticism, particularly accusations questioning his status as a prophet.
According to him, he refuses to allow negative narratives to define him or the ministry he believes he has been entrusted with.
Arole emphasized that speaking up in defense of one’s reputation is necessary to protect personal work, identity, and public image.
He added that he is firm about correcting what he considers misinformation, insisting that individuals should not remain silent when their character or integrity is challenged.
