Nigeria’s growing cultural footprint on the international stage was once again on display as music stars Wizkid and Asake attended the Louis Vuitton Menswear Spring/Summer 2027 presentation during Paris Men’s Fashion Week.
The highly anticipated showcase, led by Louis Vuitton Men’s Creative Director Pharrell Williams, attracted a diverse mix of influential figures from the worlds of fashion, music, sports, and entertainment.
The appearance of the two Nigerian artists underscored the increasing recognition of African talent by global luxury brands. Their presence at one of fashion’s most prominent events reflects the expanding influence of Nigerian and African creatives across international cultural spaces.
Wizkid and Asake joined a guest list that included French basketball star Victor Wembanyama, American rapper Missy Elliott, actor Jeremy Allen White, rapper Lil Baby, and legendary singer Angélique Kidjo.
Their attendance comes amid a broader trend of luxury fashion houses strengthening ties with Africa’s fast-growing creative sector, with artists from the continent becoming regular fixtures at major global fashion events.
For the Spring/Summer 2027 presentation, Pharrell Williams transformed part of Paris into a coastal-inspired setting. The runway featured an expansive sandy landscape and wave-themed elements designed to reflect surfing culture.
Ahead of the event, Louis Vuitton described the collection as a tribute to the surfing community, noting that a cascading wave served as a central visual feature of the presentation. Pharrell also shared that the collection drew inspiration from the sea and shoreline as spaces that connect people across cultures.
Paris Men’s Fashion Week continues to serve as one of the industry’s most important gatherings, bringing together designers, buyers, editors, and fashion executives from around the world.
This season’s schedule includes showcases from several leading fashion houses, among them Dior Homme, Saint Laurent, Kenzo, Amiri, Dries Van Noten, Yohji Yamamoto, Rick Owens, Issey Miyake, Hermès, Lanvin, Sacai, and Celine.
With additional runway presentations still to come, attention remains focused on the French capital as designers reveal new collections and celebrities make appearances throughout the week.
Paris Men’s Fashion Week is scheduled to conclude on June 28, closing another chapter in the global menswear calendar while setting the agenda for upcoming fashion conversations and trends.
