Nollywood actress Uche Ogbodo has confirmed that her marriage to Bobby Maris has come to an end, putting to rest days of speculation surrounding their relationship.
Rumours of a split emerged after the couple unfollowed each other on Instagram. The speculation intensified when both parties, along with the actress’s younger sister, shared cryptic messages on their Instagram Stories.
Addressing the reports on Tuesday, Ogbodo acknowledged that the marriage had ended, saying she had reached her limit and was no longer willing to remain in the relationship.
In a series of posts on her Instagram Story, the actress questioned why women are often criticised for choosing to leave unhappy marriages, insisting that she was simply exhausted.
“For a person to get tired of marriage, is that now a taboo because it’s a woman? My tired is tired. I’m tired of the princess wey dey marry me,” she wrote, referring to her husband.
Ogbodo also questioned whether ending a marriage should be considered wrong, adding that she had spent eight years trying to make the relationship work.
“I no do again nah sin? Make nobody push me to the wall because I be rubber. Eight years of my life is not enough yet?” she wrote.
Neither Bobby Maris nor his representatives had publicly responded to the actress’s remarks as of the time of this report.
