Former Big Brother Naija housemate Tochi has sparked conversation online after sharing his thoughts on marriage and relationships in today’s society.
In a post shared via his Instagram story, the reality TV star suggested that modern marriages should include contractual agreements designed to protect both partners in the event of a breakup.
According to him, such arrangements would ensure fairness if one party violates the terms of the union.
“I honestly think marriages of this century should come with a contract, if one person breaks it, they should pay a penalty and the other person should be free to walk away,” he wrote.
Tochi argued that commitment levels in relationships have shifted significantly compared to earlier generations, noting that many couples today struggle with patience and long-term endurance.
He attributed this change to evolving attitudes, suggesting that modern individuals are more outspoken and less tolerant in relationships than previous generations.
“People of this generation don’t have the same level of tolerance, patience, and endurance our mothers and fathers had. We are too woke,” he added.
His comments have since contributed to ongoing debates around marriage expectations, commitment, and changing relationship dynamics among younger Nigerians.
