President Bola Tinubu says Nigeria is looking forward to deepening its partnership with the United Kingdom following the inauguration of Andy Burnham as the country’s new Prime Minister.
In a congratulatory message released by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Tinubu praised the UK’s peaceful transfer of power, describing it as a testament to the strength of its democratic institutions.
The President recalled his engagement with the immediate past British Prime Minister during his official visit to London in March and expressed confidence that Burnham would build on the progress already achieved.
He also said he looks forward to working with the new Prime Minister through bilateral engagements and the Commonwealth to strengthen cooperation on issues of shared interest.
The Federal Government reaffirmed Nigeria’s commitment to its longstanding relationship with the United Kingdom and wished Burnham a successful tenure in office.
