In a spirited celebration of Workers’ Day, the National Union of Electricity Employees (NUEE) organized a novelty football match between the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) and the Nigerian Independent System Operator (NISO). The event aimed to promote unity, teamwork, healthy living, and staff well-being across both organizations.
The friendly match, held in an electrifying atmosphere, showcased impressive displays of teamwork, skill, and sportsmanship from both sides. In a thrilling contest, TCN emerged victorious with a 5-3 win over NISO, delighting fans and players alike.
According to Ndidi Mbah, General Manager, Public Affairs, Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) in a Statement, this event highlights the importance of fostering workplace relationships beyond formal settings,” stated an official from TCN. “It reinforces our collective commitment to collaboration, employee engagement, and healthy living.”
The match was attended by key management personnel from both organizations, including Engr. Oluwagbenga Ajiboye, Executive Director of Transmission Service Provider at TCN; Mr. Chuks Ochijie, Executive Director of Finance & Accounts at TCN; and Engr. Mojeed Akintola, General Manager of Engineering at TCN.
Representing NISO were Mr. Ibironke Babajide, Executive Director of Finance & Corporate Services; Mrs. Tijanni Halima, General Manager of Human Resources; and Barr. Bashiru Mohammed, General Manager of Legal Services, alongside other staff members from both companies.
