Nollywood actress Shaffy Bello has clarified that she has no current plans to venture into movie production, stating that her strength and assignment lie firmly in acting.
Speaking during a recent appearance on the Morayo Brown Show, Bello explained that acting is the role through which she gained public recognition and established her career in the entertainment industry.
According to her, creatives should focus on their individual strengths rather than pursuing roles that do not align with their purpose.
“I am an actor. Not every actor has to become a producer. I stay in my lane and do what I believe I am called to do,” she said, adding that her focus is on making meaningful impact.
Bello reflected on her journey to fame, revealing that she once prayed to become widely known, but noted that visibility comes with pressure and responsibility.
She said that while she is grateful for the platform she now has, it has also made her more conscious of how she uses her influence.
“At some point I remember praying to be a household name. Now that I am, I realise it comes with responsibility,” she said.
The actress added that she believes her purpose is to impact people through her work and presence, rather than through film production.
She noted that while she is not ruling out producing films entirely, it is not something she feels called to pursue at this stage of her career.
“If you are gifted to produce, then do it. But that is not my current assignment,” she said.
Bello further emphasised that every creative carries a unique gift, and success should be measured by how well one fulfils that calling rather than industry longevity.
She expressed confidence that her influence goes beyond filmmaking output, stressing that audiences often remember the feeling she leaves with them.
“When people encounter me, I want them to remember how I made them feel. That is my gift,” she said.
The actress also weighed in on societal expectations around beauty and women’s choices, urging individuals to prioritise purpose over pressure or survival-driven decisions.
She encouraged people to embrace self-awareness and focus on what they are truly meant to do, rather than conforming to external expectations.
