Nigerian champions Rangers have been drawn against Benin Republic’s AS Sobemap in the first preliminary round of the CAF Champions League.
The Flying Antelopes will host the opening leg before travelling for the return fixture, with progression setting up a second-round tie against either Niger Republic’s ASN Nigelec or Algerian side MC Alger.
Meanwhile, Rivers United face a challenging opening test against Ivorian club San Pedro in the same stage of the competition.
If Finidi George’s team advance, they will battle either Uganda’s Vipers or Mauritania’s FC Nouadhibou for a place in the group stage.
The first preliminary round fixtures are scheduled for September 4 to 6, with the second legs taking place from September 11 to 13, 2026. The second preliminary round matches will follow in October, with first legs slated for October 16 to 18 and return fixtures from October 23 to 25, 2026.
