Pride Bank Limited has earned global recognition after winning the Most Innovative Insurance Product – Pride Care Uganda 2026 award at the Global Banking & Finance Awards 2026.
The accolade highlights the bank’s commitment to delivering financial solutions that respond to the evolving needs of its customers. The recognition marks a significant milestone for Pride Bank, reinforcing its position as a forward-thinking institution focused on driving inclusive growth and transforming lives through accessible financial services.
At the centre of this recognition is Pride Care, also known as Malayo ne Pride—an insurance solution designed to provide affordable and accessible coverage to individuals and families, particularly in underserved communities.
The product responds directly to everyday risks faced by customers, offering protection while strengthening financial resilience. Through Malayo ne Pride, the bank has simplified insurance by making it more relatable, culturally relevant, and easy to access.
Customers can access coverage by maintaining a minimum balance of Shs 100,000, lowering the barrier to entry and making financial protection part of daily life. The product’s impact has not gone unnoticed.
In addition to this global recognition, Pride Care was also recognised at the Insurance Innovation Awards 2025, held on March 27, 2025. Pride Bank’s partner, Padre Pio Insurance Brokers, won the Most Innovative Insurance Broker Award for the same product—an achievement that underscores the strength of collaboration in delivering impactful solutions.
By integrating insurance into its broader financial services offering, Pride Bank continues to deepen its contribution to financial inclusion in Uganda. The approach reflects a deliberate shift beyond traditional banking—towards providing more holistic financial solutions that address real-life needs.
The Global Banking & Finance Review Awards celebrate excellence and innovation across the financial services sector, recognising institutions that are redefining banking through technology, accessibility, and impact-driven solutions.
For Uganda, the recognition carries wider significance. Pride Bank’s winplaces locally developed solutions on the global stage, highlighting how homegrown innovation can respond effectively to community needs in practical and sustainable ways.
Speaking on the achievement, Joseph Feeta, Business Head at Pride Bank, said: “Pride Care was designed with the everyday Ugandan in mind—simple, accessible, and responsive to real-life risks. This recognition affirms our commitment to innovate with purpose, ensuring that more people can access meaningful financial protection.”
As Pride Bank continues to expand its footprint, it remains focused on developing customer-centred products that support economic empowerment, strengthen communities, and contribute to sustainable national development.
