Veteran Nollywood actor Pete Edochie has paid an emotional tribute to the late Alexx Ekubo, describing him as a lively, generous individual whose presence left a lasting impression on everyone he met.
In a video shared on Instagram, Edochie reflected on the few occasions he spent with Ekubo, saying they met only three times but each encounter revealed the late actor’s cheerful spirit and infectious energy.
Recalling one memorable meeting, Edochie said Ekubo arrived at his hotel accompanied by Ogene drummers and presented him with a cow while inviting him to an event, a gesture he said reflected the actor’s warm personality.
The veteran actor also disclosed that Ekubo had spoken about plans to celebrate his 80th birthday next year, plans that will now remain unfulfilled following the actor’s passing.
“Alexx Ekubo came, he saw, and he left an indelible impression. I met him three times. On the first occasion, he arrived at my hotel with a big cow and a group of Ogene drummers to invite me to an event,” Edochie said.
He further commended actor IK Ogbonna for standing firmly by Ekubo throughout his life and after his death, describing him as a loyal and dependable friend.
As tributes continue to pour in from across the Nigerian film industry, colleagues have continued to remember Alexx Ekubo for his generosity, charisma and contributions to Nollywood.
