Nottingham Forest manager Vitor Pereira has praised Taiwo Awoniyi for his standout display in the team’s victory over Chelsea.
Awoniyi delivered a match-winning performance as Forest secured a 3-1 upset against Chelsea in their Premier League encounter at Stamford Bridge on Monday afternoon.
The 28-year-old marked his 100th appearance for the club in style, netting two goals during the contest.
He also played a part in the build-up to another goal after being brought down in the penalty area in the 20th minute, allowing Igor Jesus to convert from the spot.
“He brings everything. Taiwo Awoniyi is a danger player. He is not on the list in the Europa League, but we know he will push the defensive line of the opponents,” Pereira was quoted by vavel.com.
The Nigerian striker has now recorded four goals and one assist across 14 league matches for Forest this season.
Forest will next face Aston Villa in the return leg of their UEFA Europa League semi-final clash on Thursday.
