One person was killed and two others injured in a shooting near the Havat Gilad settlement in the occupied West Bank on Friday morning, according to Israel’s national emergency medical service, Magen David Adom.
Magen David Adom said emergency medical teams responded to the scene and pronounced one victim dead. Two others who sustained injuries received treatment before being transported to hospital for further medical care.
Israeli security forces also responded to the incident as authorities began investigating the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
Officials have yet to release additional details about the victims or the circumstances of the attack.
The shooting comes amid heightened tensions in the occupied West Bank, where recurring violence has fuelled instability in recent months.
