The National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) has defended its controversial directive requiring annual inspections for private vehicles older than four years, despite mounting legal challenges seeking to halt its implementation.
Speaking on NTV’s Fixing the Nation programme on Tuesday, NTSA Director General Nashon Kondiwa insisted the regulations are lawful and necessary to enhance national security, improve road safety and support proper transport planning.
His remarks come as a second petition has been filed at the High Court challenging the new rules on constitutional grounds.
