Callum McGregor has praised Kelechi Iheanacho following his match-winning contribution in Celtic FC’s narrow victory over Motherwell on Wednesday night.
The forward, introduced from the bench, converted a stoppage-time penalty to seal a 3-2 win for the Hoops under Martin O’Neill’s side.
It marked the third occasion this year that Iheanacho has delivered a decisive goal after coming on as a substitute, taking his overall tally to eight goals in all competitions for Celtic.
McGregor commended the striker for taking responsibility in a crucial moment, particularly stepping up for the penalty that secured the result.
“He’s a big personality, a big player who steps up in the big moments and gets us over the line. Now it’s in our own hands,” McGregor told Celtic TV.
