Martin O’Neill has admitted he is unsure whether Kelechi Iheanacho will remain at Celtic F.C. beyond this season.
Iheanacho joined the Scottish champions on a one-year deal last summer after departing Sevilla FC and initially struggled to make an impact before improving later in the campaign.
The Nigerian forward capped the season with a stunning goal in Celtic’s 3-0 Scottish Cup final victory at Hampden Park last weekend.
He finished the campaign with nine goals in 24 appearances across all competitions for the Bhoys.
Despite his late resurgence, uncertainty remains over his long-term future at the club.
“Iheanacho keeps asking me, What do you think, are they going to keep me on?
“I have no idea, mate. Don’t ask me, I am not the manager anymore,” O’Neill was quoted by The Scotsman.
