Manchester United have reportedly reached an agreement with Chelsea for the signing of midfielder Andrey Santos in a deal that could rise to £50 million.
Multiple British media outlets, including Sky Sports, The Guardian, The Athletic and The Times, reported that both clubs have settled on a transfer fee, although neither side has officially confirmed the move.
Sky Sports reported that United had agreed a £50 million deal for the Brazilian midfielder, adding that Santos is expected to complete the final formalities before the transfer is concluded.
Other reports indicate the agreement includes an initial £48 million payment plus £2 million in add-ons, with personal terms already settled and the player given permission to undergo a medical.
The deal is also believed to include a 10 per cent sell-on clause negotiated by Chelsea.
Santos joined Chelsea from Vasco da Gama in 2023 and later spent loan spells at Nottingham Forest and Strasbourg before returning to Stamford Bridge.
The 22-year-old impressed during his time with Strasbourg and was included in Chelsea’s squad for the 2025 Club World Cup.
Although he competed for a starting place with Moises Caicedo and Enzo Fernandez, Santos made 43 appearances across all competitions last season, scoring three goals.
If completed, the transfer would strengthen Manchester United’s midfield options ahead of the new campaign.
