Manchester City completed a domestic cup double after beating Chelsea 1-0 in the FA Cup final at Wembley Stadium on Saturday.
Antoine Semenyo scored the decisive goal midway through the second half, producing a clever back-heel finish from Erling Haaland’s cross after Bernardo Silva created the opening outside the penalty area.
City controlled much of the first half, while Chelsea responded strongly after the break in a tense final with few clear chances. Semenyo’s finish ultimately proved the difference as Pep Guardiola secured his 20th trophy in English football.
The victory adds the FA Cup to City’s Carabao Cup success this season and keeps alive their hopes of a Premier League title triumph if they can overturn Arsenal’s lead in the final two matches.
