The sanctions represent the steepest disciplinary fines ever recorded by the Spanish giants. The altercation resulted in Valverde requiring hospital treatment for a “traumatic brain injury,” ruling him out of the upcoming El Clásico against Barcelona, while TchouamĂ©ni returned to the pitch on Friday.
The club finalized the disciplinary action after both players appeared before an internal investigator to address the incident. Despite the severity of the altercation and the subsequent record-breaking fines, the club has signaled the matter is resolved following formal apologies from both parties.
