Kunle Remi has spoken candidly about the emotional strain he experiences on social media, describing the platform as increasingly overwhelming due to negativity and distressing content.
The Nollywood actor said that opening Instagram often feels mentally exhausting, as users are frequently exposed to heartbreaking news, disrespectful exchanges, and toxic interactions.
He admitted that while he sometimes feels like disconnecting completely, he is unable to fully step away due to the demands of his evolving career.
According to him, his role now extends beyond acting, as he also identifies as a brand, storyteller, influencer, and “light-bearer.”
Remi explained that this responsibility motivates him to remain active online despite the emotional challenges, as he still has messages of hope, humour, and positivity to share.
He noted that engaging with the platform has become so mentally demanding that it often requires a conscious emotional readiness before logging in.
The actor urged social media users to be more intentional about the content and energy they share, encouraging kindness and compassion in online spaces.
He called on people to “be light” in what he described as a harsh digital environment, stressing the importance of positivity amid widespread negativity.
Remi added that even small acts of encouragement and positivity can make a difference, especially in times when online spaces feel overwhelming.
His remarks add to growing conversations around mental health, digital wellbeing, and the pressures faced by public figures in the age of social media.
