The United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has announced that a Nigerian national, Ayodeji Olamide Ajayi, will be removed from the country following what it described as visa overstay and a series of criminal convictions and charges.
In a statement posted on its official X (formerly Twitter) handle, ICE said Ajayi entered the United States in 2007 on a student visa but later left school and remained in the country unlawfully.
âAyodeji Olamide Ajayi, of Nigeria, entered the United States in 2007 on a student visa and eventually left school, but failed to leave the country. Instead, he stayed in the U.S. and got to work on a lengthy rap sheet that includes convictions such as: Domestic violence, Trespassing, Intimidation, Obstruction. His criminal history also includes these egregious charges: Kidnapping, Rape, Family neglect.â
ICE attributed the planned removal to the administrationâs immigration enforcement policy, stating: âThanks to @POTUSâ commitment to getting criminal illegal aliens out of this country, Ajayi will be leaving the United States shortly.â
The announcement was made via the official social media handle of US Immigration and Customs Enforcement as part of ongoing enforcement actions targeting individuals with criminal records and immigration violations in the United States.
