Nigerian comedian I Go Save has expressed concern over what he describes as an increasing rate of street begging in Lagos, urging authorities to take swift action.
In a post shared on his Instagram story, the entertainer compared begging practices in different parts of the country, suggesting a stark contrast in approach.
According to him, while beggars in Northern Nigeria are typically seen holding plates, those in Lagos are often seen carrying stones.
He characterised the situation in Lagos as a growing “pandemic,” stressing that it requires immediate government intervention.
“The government needs to stop this growing pandemic in Lagos instantaneously,” he wrote.
His remarks add to ongoing conversations about public safety and urban challenges in Nigeria’s commercial capital, where concerns about street activities and their implications continue to draw attention.
