For decades, Father John Pesa, founder of the Holy Ghost Coptic Church in Kisumu, remained an enigma cloaked in mystery. Rarely was he seen without a convoy of loyal followers, private security officers clad in black suits hovering around him, and armed police officers standing guard as though protecting a monarch.

And as NTV reports, Father John Pesa’s death is not only a devastating blow to thousands of his followers, but also a tragedy that has left many of them distraught and struggling to come to terms with the loss.
