Enugu Air says one of its aircraft operating into Benin experienced a runway incursion after landing, but confirmed that all passengers and crew members were safely evacuated without injuries.
In a public notice issued on Thursday, the airline said the incident did not result in any casualties.
The airline said, “Enugu Air wishes to inform the public that one of our aircraft operating into Benin experienced a runway incursion after landing today.”
It added, “We confirm that all passengers and crew have safely disembarked and there were no injuries or casualties.”
According to the airline, the aircraft has been secured while the relevant aviation authorities have been notified in line with established procedures.
It said, “The aircraft has been secured and the relevant aviation authorities have been notified in line with established procedures. An assessment of the aircraft and the circumstances surrounding the occurrence is currently underway.”
Enugu Air also warned that the incident could affect its flight operations, saying there may be temporary changes to some schedules.
It said affected passengers would be contacted directly and provided with the necessary assistance.
Reassuring customers, the airline said, “The safety of our passengers, crew, and operations remains our highest priority. We appreciate your understanding and will continue to provide updates through our official communication channels.”
