Nollywood actress Eniola Badmus has opened up about her remarkable five-year weight-loss journey, revealing that she has shed 87 kilograms while calling for an end to body-shaming.
In a post shared on Instagram, the actress disclosed that she weighed 170kg five years ago but now weighs 83kg, describing the transformation as one of the most difficult experiences of her life.
According to Badmus, the milestone was achieved through years of discipline, consistency, sacrifice and a conscious commitment to improving her health.
“Five years ago, I weighed 170KG. Today, in 2026, I weigh 83KG. That didn’t happen overnight. It took years of discipline, sacrifice, pain, consistency, tears, setbacks, and choosing my health every single day,” she wrote.
Despite celebrating her progress, the actress said she continues to face criticism online, noting that many of the people who once mocked her for being plus-size are now targeting her for losing weight.
She explained that changes in her skin are a natural result of losing nearly 90 kilograms and said she has continued to prioritise her wellbeing through healthy living, collagen supplements and self-acceptance.
Badmus added that remaining silent in the face of insults should not be mistaken for emotional strength or indifference, stressing that hurtful comments still have an impact.
The actress urged people to recognise the determination behind her transformation rather than focusing on perceived physical flaws, describing the achievement as significant.
She also appealed to women to support one another instead of engaging in body-shaming, saying much of the criticism she receives comes from other women despite frequent calls for female solidarity.
Concluding her message, Badmus said no one deserves to be ridiculed for being overweight or for losing weight, adding that while people are not obligated to admire her appearance, they should choose to treat others with respect and kindness.
