Afrobeats star David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has said his passion for entertainment would have shaped his career even if he had never become a successful recording artiste.
Speaking during an interview with Kiss Xtra, the Grammy-nominated singer explained that he has always been drawn to the entertainment business and believes he would have found another way to contribute to the industry.
According to Davido, if his music career had not taken off, he would most likely have established a record label or a media company because of his longstanding interest in music and talent development.
He added that even if he had joined one of his father’s businesses, he still envisioned running an entertainment venture alongside his corporate responsibilities.
The singer also highlighted his academic background, noting that he holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management and could have pursued a career in the corporate sector.
Davido said his qualifications would have enabled him to apply for jobs, including opportunities with international companies, stressing that he had alternative career options outside the music industry.
The award-winning artiste rose to fame in 2012 after the release of Dami Duro, the breakout single from his debut album, Omo Baba Olowo. Since then, he has become one of Africa’s biggest music exports, earning international acclaim for his contributions to Afrobeats.
