Nigerian music star Davido has apologised to fans after missing a scheduled appearance in Lagos, saying travel issues stopped him from making the event.
Davido was billed to perform at the fifth anniversary of Secrets Palace. The singer later shared on social media that he could not travel as planned after his team struggled to get fuel for his flight, forcing a change to his schedule.
In his post, Davido linked the disruption to wider events happening around the world. “The world happened to me yesterday… These wars around the world have really started penetrating… finding fuel was a problem yesterday to even fly… everything had to be rescheduled.”
He also apologised to fans who had already arrived at the venue. “To my fans that pulled up at Esecretspalace! Sorry! Missed. We gonna run it back again soon.”
Davido also congratulated music producer Sheyman, who hosted the anniversary event, and said he would still support him.
The organisers are yet to confirm a new date for the singer’s appearance as at time of reporting.
