Guinness World Records has recognised a Lagos concert organised by Dapper Live & Artists as the holder of the record for the largest orchestra for an Afrobeats concert, following a performance that brought together 85 musicians in a live orchestral rendition of Afrobeats.
The global record-keeping organisation announced the achievement across its social media platforms on Tuesday, stating that the record attempt took place at the Balmoral Convention Centre in Lagos in December 2025, where an orchestra, choir, dancers and lead singer performed together under the direction of a conductor.
Guinness World Records wrote: “Largest orchestra for an Afrobeats concert, 85 musicians by Dapper Live & Artists.
“This attempt took place at the Balmoral Convention Centre in Lagos, Nigeria in December 2025 and was staged as a live orchestral performance based on an Afrobeats composition.
“Led by a conductor, the concert featured a lead singer, an accompanying choir, dancers, and 85 musicians performing in coordination. The event showcased how Afrobeats and orchestral music can seamlessly blend.”
The performance, titled Trench Symphony: The Dapper Live Experience, was held on December 16, 2025. It featured performances by King Saheed Osupa, KS1 Malaika, T.I Blaze, Rybeena, Bhadboi OML, Kashcoming, TML Vibez, Lasmid, Heis Cazulee and Dwillsharmony.
Before the official confirmation by Guinness World Records, the organisers had announced that the record attempt had been reviewed and verified. They described the concert as a fusion of Afrobeats, Fuji and orchestral music, saying the production was designed to push creative boundaries and rewrite the record books.
Dapper Live & Artists is linked to Nigerian music executive Damilola Akinwunmi, popularly known as Dapper.
