Company urges Nigerians to report unauthorised haulage activities involving Dangote-branded vehicles…..
Dangote Industries Limited has introduced a whistle-blowing initiative aimed at curbing illegal haulage activities involving its trucks, offering a cash reward of N500,000 to individuals who provide credible information leading to the arrest of offenders or recovery of unauthorised goods.
The company said the initiative is part of its broader efforts to protect the integrity of its logistics operations and clamp down on the illegal use of Dangote-branded trucks by individuals transporting goods and passengers outside approved company operations.
In a statement, Dangote Industries urged members of the public to report suspected cases of illegal haulage, stressing that trucks belonging to its subsidiaries are only authorised to transport specific products approved by the company.
The company explained that Dangote Cement trucks are restricted to the movement of cement, limestone, high-grade gypsum, coal and clinker, while vehicles operated by Dangote Sugar Refinery are approved only for sugar products.
It added that trucks belonging to NASCON Allied Industries are designated for Dangote Salt and DanQ Seasoning products, while Dangote Packaging vehicles are assigned to the transportation of bags and packaging materials.
Similarly, vehicles operated by Dangote Petroleum Refinery and Petrochemicals are permitted to transport polypropylene products, while Dangote Fertiliser Limited trucks are authorised for the haulage of urea fertiliser.
The company warned that any Dangote truck found carrying unauthorised goods would be considered involved in illegal haulage, with both drivers and owners of the goods liable to arrest, cargo confiscation and prosecution under relevant laws.
“Anyone with verifiable information that leads to the arrest of persons involved in illegal haulage activities or the recovery of unauthorized goods transported on Dangote trucks will receive a cash reward of Five Hundred Thousand Naira,” the company stated.
To support enforcement efforts, Dangote advised whistleblowers to provide detailed information, including the truck type, registration number, cab number, location, description of the goods, vehicle colour and photographs of the truck or cargo where available.
The company said dedicated hotlines have been established across its operations to receive reports, particularly involving trucks operating from its Obajana, Okpella and Gboko plants.
It added that law enforcement agencies, including the police, have been authorised to arrest drivers found using company trucks for unauthorised commercial activities.
Dangote Industries reiterated its zero-tolerance policy towards logistics-related fraud, calling on members of the public to support efforts to expose illegal operators and safeguard legitimate business activities.
The company said the initiative is aimed at protecting its assets, strengthening transparency and accountability, and ensuring compliance across its nationwide logistics network.
