Chelsea have been hit with a £10 million fine and a suspended two-window transfer ban after an independent appeal board upheld sanctions against the Premier League club for breaches of Football Association agent regulations.
The punishment relates to undisclosed payments made to agents during the ownership of Roman Abramovich, with Chelsea admitting violations of FA Rule E1.2.
The club was charged with 74 breaches after its current owners reported the alleged misconduct following their takeover in May 2022.
The transfers under scrutiny during the investigation are believed to include deals involving players such as Eden Hazard, Samuel Eto’o and Willian.
An initial independent commission had imposed a suspended six-point deduction, but that penalty was overturned on appeal and replaced with the suspended transfer ban.
