A delegation representing Chelsea Football Club paid a courtesy visit to Oba Saheed Ademola Elegushi at his palace in Lagos on Sunday.
Former Super Eagles winger and ex-Chelsea player Victor Moses was part of the visiting team and played a key role during the engagement.
Oba Elegushi welcomed the delegation, describing the meeting as an important step in promoting football, culture, and international cooperation.
The traditional ruler also stressed the need for stronger relationships between international football organisations and grassroots communities across Nigeria.
The visit further highlights Chelsea’s ongoing connection with Nigerian football stakeholders and traditional institutions, reflecting the club’s widespread support and influence in the country.
He said, “Today, I hosted a delegation from Chelsea Football Club, UK #chelseafc which also included our ex-international, Victor Moses #victormoses, accompanied by Chelsea Fans club, Nigeria.
“I am honoured by the visit and I use the opportunity to inform the Chelsea team to support our local clubs and football academies, exploring partnerships that will benefit of our teeming youths who want to play football.”
