American rapper Cardi B has spoken about the level of public attention surrounding her personal life as speculation over her relationship with Super Eagles goalkeeper Maduka Okoye continues.
Her remarks come days after the pair were photographed dining with friends at a restaurant in Venice, Italy, adding to rumours that first gained momentum following their appearance together at Paris Fashion Week.
In a video shared on her Instagram Story, the Grammy Award-winning artiste said she experiences an exceptional level of scrutiny compared with many other celebrities, likening her situation to that of pop icon Britney Spears during the height of her fame.”No cap, I’m really hip hop’s Britney Spears. I got all the tea on these celebrities… I know who’s with who and what’s doing what. But guess what? Nobody reports on it. You want to know why? Because nobody cares.”
Cardi B said even routine aspects of her life quickly become the subject of widespread discussion online.”But when it comes to me… I can’t even… do anything without people talking about it. This is crazy,” she said.
Despite the constant attention, the rapper said she has accepted that public interest comes with her level of fame.”You’ve got to take the good with the bad. It is what it is. People pay for this type of talk,” she added.
The comments follow recent sightings of Cardi B and Okoye together in Europe. Last week, the pair were seen at a restaurant in Venice alongside a group of friends. Weeks earlier, they attended the Jean Paul Gaultier Fall/Winter 2026 Haute Couture Show during Paris Fashion Week, where they were seated together.
Neither Cardi B nor the Udinese goalkeeper has confirmed that they are in a romantic relationship, and their representatives have not issued any statement addressing the speculation.
