Grammy-winning Nigerian singer Burna Boy has announced that he will soon release a new song with British music star Ed Sheeran, reigniting excitement over another cross-continental collaboration.
The Afrobeats star disclosed the news during a conversation with host Will, revealing that he and Sheeran have been working on new music scheduled for release in the near future. He did not, however, disclose the song’s title or an official release date.
The upcoming track will reunite the pair nearly four years after the success of For My Hand, their 2022 collaboration from Burna Boy’s Love, Damini album. The record, which fused Afrobeats with pop influences, enjoyed global success and further expanded Burna Boy’s international reach.
During the interview, Burna Boy also credited Ed Sheeran with introducing him to Colombian singer Shakira, a connection that led to their collaboration on Dai Dai, the official anthem for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Burna Boy has consistently expanded his global footprint through collaborations with leading international artists. Over the years, he has worked with stars including Stormzy, Dave, Justin Bieber, Sam Smith and J Hus, reinforcing his position as one of Africa’s most influential music exports.
With another joint project now confirmed, fans are awaiting further details on the release, hoping the new record will replicate the global success of For My Hand.
