Nollywood actress Bamike Olawunmi has reported the theft of her mobile phone during the service of songs held in honour of late actor Alex Ekubo at The Monarch Event Centre in Lagos.
Bambam disclosed that she noticed her phone missing from her bag shortly after the emotional tribute event on Wednesday. According to her, she immediately tracked the device to Nnamdi Azikiwe Street on Lagos Island before its signal stopped updating, suggesting it may have been moved, sold or dismantled.
She expressed frustration over the incident, noting that the phone had not changed location since it was last detected.
Similarly, actress Susan Peters confirmed that her white iPhone 16 Pro Max also went missing during the same event.
She explained that the device, which operates on an eSIM linked to her U.S. line, could not be called or reached and appealed to the public for assistance in recovering it. Peters also offered a reward for anyone who finds and returns the phone.
In a post shared on social media, she expressed shock that theft could occur at a solemn gathering, questioning the behaviour of individuals who attended the tribute.
Her comments echoed earlier concerns raised by actor Stan Nze, who alleged that more than five phones were stolen during the event, raising questions about security at the venue.
The service of songs attracted a large turnout of celebrities, industry figures, and fans, as preparations continue for Ekubo’s burial rites scheduled for next week.
