Afrobeats stars Asake and Wizkid have achieved a major streaming milestone as their collaborative track “MMS” surpassed 100 million streams on Spotify.
The update was confirmed by music tracking platform #TheDebutHub in a post on X (formerly Twitter), highlighting the growing global reach of Afrobeats music.
The achievement adds another milestone to both artistes’ streaming records, with the song becoming Asake’s eighth track and Wizkid’s 17th across all credited appearances to reach over 100 million streams on the platform.
MMS blends Asake’s energetic Yoruba-infused delivery with Wizkid’s signature smooth vocals, creating a fusion that has resonated strongly with international audiences.
The track also earned a nomination for Best African Music Performance at the 67th Annual Grammy Awards, further cementing its critical and commercial success.
It remains the most streamed song from Asake’s Lungu Boy album, which was released on August 8, 2024.
The success of MMS follows the duo’s continued collaboration efforts, including their joint project Real Vol. 1 EP, released in January 2026, which features several standout tracks such as “Jogodo” and has recorded strong streaming performance across multiple markets.
The latest milestone underscores the increasing global dominance of Afrobeats and the continued commercial success of both artistes on international streaming platforms.
