Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, on Wednesday , pointed out that he was already feeling the cloud of victory around him, his team and his political party, the Accord at the coming governorship election.
Speaking during the Inaguration of 52-member Imole Campaign Council, he remarked: “I am feeling the victory, the defeat of our opponents. This team is heading to victory. My spirit confirms our party, the Accord, is declared winner with wide margins.
“This is how we started in 2022. Today is the march to victory on August 15th. I hereby inaugurate this Campaign Council to the service of continuity and delivery of good governance,” the governor told party members amid singing and dancing.
He emphasised that it’s a major political step toward the August 15, 2026 gubernatorial election in the state.
Meanwhile, the inaugurated council, known as the Imole Campaign Council 2026 (TICC), is designed as the apex strategic organ of the governor’s re-election campaign.
It will function as the central coordinating body and think tank, responsible for driving campaign strategy, mobilisation, and overall political direction.
Accordingly, the council is expected to provide “visionary leadership, strategic direction, and integrated coordination” across all campaign structures and stakeholders, with the goal of securing a decisive electoral victory for the incumbent administration.
The 52-member body drew from a broad mix of experienced politicians, professionals, and grassroots mobilisers across the state. It will be chaired by the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of Council at Osun State University, Prof Wale Ladipo, while the Senate Minority Leader, Senator Kamorudeen Lere Oyewumi has been appointed Director General.
The Commissioner for Information, Kolapo Alimi will serve as Deputy Director General, with Convener of the Coalition of Public Interests Lawyers and Advocates in Nigeria, Pelumi Olajengbesi as spokesperson and Hon. Prince Bola Ajao as Secretary, among others.
Meanwhile, the Ooni of Ife, Ooni Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, CFR, Ojaja II, has hosted the Adeleke, at the Oodua Palace in Ile-Ife, where he commended the governor’s leadership style and called for the speedy completion of ongoing projects in the ancient city.
In a statement by the Director of Media and Public Affairs, Otunba Moses Olafare, the palace said Adeleke, who paid a courtesy visit to the Ooni arrived at the palace alongside the Speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Adewale Egbedun, top government officials, commissioners, and party supporters.
The governor was warmly received by the Ooni, alongside eminent traditional rulers, palace emissaries, and dignitaries.
Speaking during the visit, Adeleke expressed delight at meeting the Ooni, describing him as a charismatic and highly respected traditional ruler.
He noted that his visit to Ile-Ife was part of his administration’s efforts to assess ongoing projects and ensure that the people continue to benefit from impactful governance.
“I am always happy to see Kabiyesi. You are very charismatic. I am in Ife for an empowerment programme and to inspect ongoing projects, including road constructions and the Lagere Flyover.
Where necessary, we will ensure that contractors are directed to accelerate work for timely delivery,” the Governor said.
Ooni, on his part, lauded Adeleke for his humility, simplicity, and commitment to inclusive governance across Osun State.
