Afrobeats sensation Ayra Starr has disclosed that she recently underwent major surgery, explaining why she has been largely absent from the public eye in recent days.
The Mavin Records artiste shared the update with her fans, popularly known as “Mobstarrs,” through a post on her Instagram Story on Thursday. She revealed that what was expected to be a routine medical procedure became more complex than initially anticipated.
In her message, the singer apologised for her reduced public presence and assured supporters that she is focused on recovering.
“I had major surgery a few days ago. I was hoping it would be a quick procedure, but it was more complicated than they expected,” she wrote.
Despite the setback, Ayra Starr said her condition is improving and expressed optimism about returning to work after taking time to rest.
“I just need a bit of rest and I’ll be back,” she told fans.
While updating supporters on her health, the Rush hitmaker also urged them to support her forthcoming project, Starr Girl. She encouraged fans to spread the word about the release and place their orders ahead of its arrival.
